Culture is very important for a nation. It links the past and the present of people in any country. A rich culture shows a long history of a nation. I’d like to tell you about some history and culture of different people around the world.

Our amazing planet is our home and we have to take care of the environment. I’d like to tell you about life in the ocean and about endangered animals and how we can support them.

Vikings in North America

There is some evidence that Vikings. were on American continent before Christopher Columbus.  Captain Leif Erikson reached the Island of Newfoundland in about 1000 AD. Vikings named their new discovery Vinland. The only Norse site yet discovered in North America is at L'Anse aux Meadows, Newfoundland and Labrador. Later Vikings left their American colonies and didn't live there any more.

First People in America 

The earliest people in America came from Siberia when there was an ice bridge across the Bering Strait. At the Ice Age on the territory of modern Bering Strait there were grassy plains. They connected Siberia with Canada. Scientists think that at the Ice Age,   sometime after 20,000 years ago,    a few thousand people arrived in Beringia from eastern Siberia. After that they moved to the south and reached South America.

The Bering land bridge closed about  11,000 years ago when the ice melted and sea water covered the bridge.
